Stephen’s Vision
Stephen wants to make a difference in the world - a BIG difference. In 2008 He traveled with his Mum to Calcutta, India. What he witnessed there has changed his life forever. He visited schools and orphanages run by Asian Aid including an eye opening week at a School for Blind Children
At least HIS eyes were opened!
The children supported by this orphanage amazed him with their courage, hope, and joy. They were given opportunities that very few blind children in India have. He was impressed with how these children can write in Braille as fast as anyone can touch-type and their abilities in mathematics. Stephen played cricket with the blind children - they can hit the ball by sound! One girl who was doomed to be blind for life has had a corneal graft and now can see... all thanks to donations given to Asian Aid. He truly witnessed first hand what it meant to these children to have financial support which allows them live a life that they otherwise wouldn’t have thought possible.
Stephen now has a burning desire to make a difference by
donating large amounts of money to Asian Aid.
His donations will mean that these beautiful children are continually blessed with all the good food they need along with improved medical care. Being the big thinker that Stephen is, he has a vision to help start other schools like this throughout India where more blind children can enjoy learning. He sees an even bigger picture where he plans to raise money each year for disadvantaged children in other countries.
